Christmas every other year...

Sometimes divorce is a give and take thing.  I just hate to give to those who took so much from me, especially when it comes to my children.  So every other Christmas they are with their perspective Dads from the day they get out of school until the day after Christmas.  I know I have them WAY more than either one of them do, especially the second one since he lives in another state. My middle child has not seen his Dad in person since the summer, only on webcam at his Grandma's house. And my daughter sees her Dad every other weekend so it's easier with her. He's around often and even coached my daughter's softball team with my husband.  BUT it is so hard to let them go, they will be gone for a week, starting tomorrow evening.  We will get them back on the 26th at noon.
And now we have one of our own together, and this is his second Christmas, the one where he gets to make all those cool faces when he sees his new toys.  Since we will not get them back until the day after we must do all the other family get togethers with out them.  And how do we do our Christmas with our little one without his Big Sister and Brother.  Hubby and I have decided to let him open a couple and save a couple for when his siblings come home the next day.
Right now I am thankful that neither one of their Dad's have other children.  That I am the only one who has given them siblings.  I long to be the first one to give my daughter a little sister.  Is that selfish, well if it is, sorry it's the truth.  And I long to have two children with the same man, my husband, Mr. Third Time is a charm.  Who is out working tonight after he worked all day at his full time job, so that I can stay at home with our children, all three of them.  I am so thankful for him, he loves my oldest two like they are his own.  This is a hard time for him too because he gets to do all the hard stuff then there Dad's get to play Daddy when they have visitation.

Well that's it for now - I'm tired - and hopefully Hubby is on his way home - it's 10:45... and he has to be at work at 7 in the morning.
